POSITION – System Admin
LOCATION – Sunnyvale

Job Summary:

Lead the system operations function to provide world-class service to CashEdge clients.

CashEdge is a software-as-a-servic?e? (SaaS) company that provides online financial applications for banks, credit unions and wealth management firms. This position is responsible for the following aspects of daily operations for a 7x24x365 business: systems administration, application server administration, change management activities required to manage performance, capacity, availability and security requirements of CashEdge operations. This is a technical position, which requires an expert level knowledge and experience of software as a service product delivery: java application server, database, storage, networking and operating systems.

The working environment is fast-paced, demanding and results oriented.

Specific Responsibilities

Work as a lead member of the Systems Operations team. Cooperate with Development, Release Management, and Professional Services teams to coordinate activities and maintain systems/operations.

Implement processes necessary to achieve a 99.99% SLA for our clients.

Administer Linux systems, Weblogic application servers, JBoss application servers

Diagnose and troubleshoot systems and application problems, connectivity issues, SSL certificate issues.

Administer Netscaler and BigIP load balancers

Be on-call 24x7 on a rotational basis

Identify and implement critical metrics necessary to manage and monitor the performance of overall operations: performance, capacity, availability, etc.

Participate in the development, testing and execution of the Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan.


· BS/BA degree with 5 years of experience in a related technical field or Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.

· Ability to develop and communicate relevant metrics, SLA and performance reports to management.

· Expert level knowledge of WebLogic Java Application Server clusters in a high volume, high availability environment

· Experience in a 7x24x365 operation with customer uptime service level agreements.

· Experience with capacity planning, utilization review and performance monitoring.

· Experience in managing and maintaining customer facing, production systems

· Experience in working in ASP or SaaS environments

· Experience in unix/linux shell or perl scripting

· Minimum of 5 years hands-on technical experience in at least 2 of the following areas: Oracle WebLogic, Linux Operating System, Oracle Business Intelligence

· Customer/business support experience with highly technical, engineering-oriented organizations/enviro?nments

· Knowledge of Security Standards: OWASP, CIS, etc

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent team player and able to work with virtual and global cross-functional teams

· Ability to work with deadlines and in a very fast paced environment.

· Ability to work in an on-call environment, able to respond at all hours either as primary or escalation contact

· Excellent team communication skills

Skills & Knowledge Qualifications:

· Expert at using available tools to debug complex issues; java/kernel core dumps, Mission Control, Wily, etc

· Familiarity with Java or prior Java development experience

· Experience in the Financial Services Industry

· Experience with IBM Datapower SOA appliance
