Position: Financial Business Analyst

Location: Menlo Park, CA

Job Description:


·        Partner and build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders to achieve organizational goals, including Product Owners, Technology Development, UX/Design, Marketing, Service, Operations, Quality Assurance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Executive Leadership.

·        Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the purpose of the project, the benefits that the business will realize, and the functionality required to make the effort successful.

·        Lead interviews and cross-functional working sessions to understand business goals, leverage a variety of techniques to accurately elicit requirements, and document business processes.

·        Prioritize requirements effectively based on factors including business value, cost to delivery and time constraints.

·        Use business analysis skills and tools to define and author complex functional requirements for software /system development initiatives.

·        Lead functional requirement review sessions and facilitate buy-in and approvals from business stakeholders and technology partners.

·        Work closely with project management and technology partners to drive and support product development efforts for assigned projects.

·        Manage multiple projects simultaneously while working under aggressive timelines to satisfy business need.

·        Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members on individual project initiatives and job specific competencies.

·        Serve as a subject matter expert in assigned project, product, and system areas.


·        3+ years of product management and/or business analysis experience, preferably in financial services and online retail brokerage.

·        1+ years of work experience in the brokerage and/or securities related industry with in-depth knowledge of financial products such as equities, options, and mutual funds, (experience from personal investing may be considered as a substitute)

·        In-depth knowledge of WCAG 2.0 guidelines and practical work experience writing accessibility requirements for the web.

·        Strong technical writing skills, including specific experience authoring business requirements, use cases, user stories, process flow diagrams and detailed functional specifications is required.

·        Proven track-record managing multiple projects, with demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional results under tight timelines.

·        Practical experience and understanding of Agile and Waterfall product development methodologies.

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills.

·        Ability to facilitate and organize group working sessions.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·        Self-motivated, highly organized, team player who thrives in a fast paced environment.

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, or MIS.  Master’s Degree is a plus.

·        Limited travel may be required.
