Data Analyst – Direct Hire – Atlanta, GA

The Data Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing and executing a network growth model for the large multi-terabyte national Internet network.

To be successful in this role you must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment where reporting may have a single day turnaround. From a technical standpoint you must have the ability to understand a variety of data models, requirements and perform analysis on source systems. In addition to strong analytics skills, the role requires excellent communication with a wide array of team members in different roles including business stakeholders, managers, analysts, architects, and engineers. A willingness to learn basic IP and transport network concepts is a requirement. You must also be able to work with minimal or no supervision on multiple concurrent tasks.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and authority on issues related to reporting, analysis, and metrics.
Operates with considerable latitude for independent judgment.
Provides influence and leadership to cross-functional teams and other stakeholders on ideas and solutions that impact corporate results.
Provides mentorship and guidance to team members and associates.
Develops reports and offers analytical insight for traffic patterns and trends, combines data from multiple network collection sources
Identifies and defines key metrics and performance indicators, creates and maintains dashboards to drive network planning decisions.
Gathers and processes raw, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data at scale, including writing scripts, developing programmatic interfaces against web APIs, using & developing network planning tools, etc.
Conducts ad hoc research projects and feasibility tests, forecasting and modeling to gain insight into key issues.
Mines large volumes of data and ensures integrity and accessibility
Conducts time series forecasting and predictive analytics
Models and analyzes future demands to help guide long range planning and design of the IP and optical network
Analyzes Internet customer network usage based on market segmentation, seasonal, weekly and daily usage trends
Provides and conducts analytic efforts to support business operations, which may include budget modeling, developing analytical tools and numerical modeling of complex operations systems and processes
Writes reports, creates charts, presentations and timelines in support of department or business operations.
Identifies, researches, and resolves discrepancies in analytical procedure or cross-functional methods.
Interprets operational requirements for inclusion in studies and analyses.
Provides recommendations for operational efficiencies and process improvements and assists in policy development to support change initiatives.
Works with outside expertise engaged to assist or deliver analytic projects.
May write code to automate reports and templates and consolidate data into reports and knowledge.
Uses and may program statistical analysis software.
Supports capability development within the delivery organization, including reviews and gap assessments, and works to source and deliver strategies.
Conducts business impact analyses and validation studies and market research through all stages: concept formulation, definition of metrics, determination of appropriate statistical methodology, research evaluation, and final research report.
Facilitates meetings and presentations to senior leadership.

Minimum
8 or more years of experience in related field (i.e., data analysis, metrics, etc; 5 or more years of experience if candidate possesses a related advanced degree • 3 years of Data Analysis and/or development experience in a data warehousing and analytical reporting environment • Deep understanding of descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics
Experience and understanding of SAS, R, Python and Machine Learning
Creative and analytical thinking – knowledge of how to ask and answer questions with data
Strong analytical and math skills with an ability to translate numbers into meaningful information
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical thinking skills
Excellent written, interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization

Preferred
BS/BA degree in related discipline; Master''s degree in a related discipline strongly preferred
