A vacancy exists for a strong senior Salesforce developer within the FXIP team in American Express, New York.
The successful candidate will join an existing agile development team building an exciting transformation financial platform involving both green field and brown field development.
The team is relatively new and the codebase growing quickly so this position suits someone who can hit the ground running, form good working relationships quickly and also, add value by introducing best practice design and techniques learned elsewhere.
The successful candidate will join a newly forming agile team of 10-15 people, and contribute as a senior member of the development team. The team is led by an experienced technical leadership group.

Deliver business value based on agile best practices.
Develops and maintains productive working relationships with business partners, customers and IT personnel including Architects, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Software Developers, Business Analysts and Quality Assurance
Support project delivery for Salesforce from a technical stand point
Partners with Business Analysts and Solution Architects for new development projects, systems enhancements and maintenance projects
Works with cross functional teams to assist architect and estimate software solutions to maximize use of Salesforce
Partners with infrastructure, architecture, and database services to ensure overall systems scalability, reliability, and performance of Salesforce
Provides technical leadership on all assigned projects to ensure delivery of valuable solutions in alignment with BMI’s business needs, technological platform architecture, and overall SDLC. This includes understanding business requirements, adhering to technical architecture standards, recommending technical design, monitoring development and testing efforts, resolving technical issues, making technical decisions, and supporting deployment of Salesforce
Leads all aspects of multiple projects concurrently consisting of both business as usual and/or strategically forward thinking initiatives in the absence of a PMO representative (Project Manager or Scrum Master)
Establishes the technical implementation approach and drives the technical design and development of projects utilizing the platform for projects that may contain both declarative and programmatic solutions; which would include Apex and Visualforce
Works with the engineering team to lead the day-to-day development activities by leading/implementing architecture decisions, participation in designs, design review, code review and implementation for Salesforce
Maintain technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology, always looking out for new technologies and working with the management and development team when evaluating new technologies
Mentors developers and ensures relevant on-boarding is provided
Documents technical specifications and requirements
Participates in interviews and hiring decisions for consultants when necessary
Provides performance feedback, monitors deliverables, ensures architectural direction is followed and participate in code reviews for consultants when appropriate

Skills Required
10+ overall experience in software development for web applications
5+ years hands-on development experience with
Solid understanding of and detailed experience with architecture and API
Detailed experience writing Visualforce and Apex classes and triggers
Strong understanding and experience in OOP
Solid understanding of software design patterns
Experience in one of these programming languages C#, Java
Experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Strong understanding of web application aspects (session, cookie, authentication / authorization, HTTP protocol)
Solid understanding and experience in SOA (REST, SOAP)
Experience using Salesforce data and development tools (Data Loader, Eclipse IDE)
Strong understanding and experience using relational databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle)
Demonstrative success with at least one large integration project
Strong business analysis and functional experience, including requirements gathering, creating/deploying solutions to end users
Must have proven experience with Agile/extreme programming (XP) methodology.
Excellent spoken and written English, clear oral communication skills.
Must be willing and able to express new ideas, concerns and opinions directly to wider team in team meetings via teleconference. Must be proactive, enthusiastic, flexible, and results driven. Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
Experience in working with colleagues in other locations, especially offshore development colleagues in India & UK
