Position Title: Windows Systems Administrator

Job Summary:
The Windows Systems Administrator helps to maintain operations of the Company’s infrastructure by ensuring the proper functioning of servers, Windows operating systems, directory services, enterprise applications such as email and common network services.
Ensure consistent levels of performance by adhering to standards and best practices. Provide management with current operating conditions and recommendations for improvements to the security and performance of the computing infrastructure. Work with business sponsors to determine the appropriate IT solution path and whether that entails OnPrem, PaaS, SaaS or IaaS solutions

Specifically, but not limited to:
Build and maintain server hardware and software systems to provide an optimal computing environment. Implement and sustain reliable operations of Windows-based enterprise and database applications. Collaborate with IT team members to review opportunities, challenges, and practices
Provide Windows server hardware and operating system subject matter expertise to various application and inter-disciplined disciplinary corporate projects
Continuously upgrade skill sets to remain current with installed systems. Provide support and assistance to the computer helpdesk in resolving end-user issues and cases.
Work with IT staff in the implementation of new technologies to enhance application performance and use productivity. Assist with project planning by providing cost and time estimates of the proposed work
Recommend and implement procedures in support of Data Center Recovery and Business Continuity Planning as well as regular or as-needed backup/restore processing.
Monitor server performance and end user experience by utilizing software tools for efficient and proper operations. Communicate performance results through periodic reports and dashboards.
Maintain infrastructure inventory; tracking location, current use, configuration, hardware/software/firmware version, and support and upgrade information. Track the availability and location of original media sets, and spare parts for the various system services components.

Minimum Requirements:
5+ years of related experience
Candidate must have GOOD EXP with Powershell SCRIPTING
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
Required: Microsoft Server 2008 and 2012; Active Directory, AD Group Policy; Familiarity with OS patch management (SCCM, WSUS) toolsets, etc.; Server and Application Virtualization (VMWare), Citrix Presentation and Xenapp Experience, Backup solutions including disk, tape and services experience.
Preferred: Networked Attached Storage ( NetApp familiarity, Network switching and routing essentials, MS SCCM\SCOM, XENAPP 6.0+, , VMWare, CommVault Simpana 10 experience
Microsoft and\or VMWare certifications strongly encouraged
This job function requires excellent oral and written communication and listening skills; as well as tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external partnerships.
Preference for candidates working in large corporate computing environments
Requires the ability to travel for server repair, training, conferences, and meetings. Flexible work schedule required. This position has on-call responsibilities and access to confidential information. Must lift or assist in moving heavy objects 40-80lbs
Flexibility in work schedule is also required for possible overtime, work on holidays, weekends and extended hours with minimal notice and as required by operational need.
