Job Title: Application Security Architect
Location: Lansing, MI
Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Top Three Skills:
Database security experience
User authentication experience
General security experience i.e.: NIST framework, regulatory frameworks and controls.

Description: The State of Michigan - DTMB is currently looking for an Application Security Architect. Currently there is a gap in ensuring security is a part of the software development process for the State of MI - DTMB agency services team. Agency services team is the development center for DTMB (Dept. of Technology Management and Budget
Currently there are some security policies and standards in place, but there is no one who is training, mentoring, or coaching the development teams within the agencies on the information security standards and policies.
This person will be a part of the Security team within the State of Michigan - Dept. of Technology Management and Budget, but will often be out within the agency services development teams providing guidance and direction for various security standards, policies, tools, design, and development.
This person will be the champion of the security team out amongst the application development teams.
This person will likely come from an application development and application architecture background and more recently went down the information security path.
Because there are a lot of agency application development teams this person won''t be able to support all of them, this person will being with high profile projects and be a part of the methodology, solution design phase, provide guidance to people designing the application, education the development teams on policies, and help craft training for the teams.

Non-Technical Skills: Very strong communication skills. This person will be working closely with the application development teams across State agencies to help train, mentor, and coach them on information security policies and standards.
