Oracle APPS DBA with OTM
Oak brook, IL
Contract to Hire (Direct hire is a possibility)

Provide thought leadership on database architectural design of existing and new systems, database administration, performance monitoring tuning, troubleshooting problems and expansion.
Evaluate and implement products to enhance existing database solutions (reduce costs, improve efficiency, improve performance
Review, enhance and develop backup and recovery strategies depending on SLA requirements.
Participate incontinuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality, including performing proactive maintenance such as ensuring continued space availability, monitoring activity, and documenting problems, changes, and solutions.
Capacity planning and monitoring database growth.
Design, maintain and ensure High Availability solutions including replication, clustering etc.
Design, implement and document Disaster Recovery strategies for critical business servers.
Perform capacity planning work on Production, UA, QA, DEV and DR environments.
Participate in 24 X 7 Support of production environment and mission-critical applications with the Database Technology team on a rotational schedule.
Communicate and coordinate with the Client’s IT teams to successfully resolve support and maintenance issues.
Develop and enforce database standards and best practices including performance, security, monitoring policies and procedures.

B.S. in Computer Science or similar field, M.S. or MBA preferred.
7+ years experience developing, maintaining and administering Oracle 9g/10g/11g/12c databases
2+ years developing, maintaining and administeringMS SQL Server databases preferred.
A clear understanding of Oracle application and database architecture
Experience with Oracle Transportation Management strongly desired
Ability to install and configure RDBMS, layered and third party software unassisted.
Proficiency with most database utilities such as RMAN, SQL loader, export, import, data pump, Data Guard etc.
Proficiency with partitioning, advanced queuing, distributed transactions, materialized views/snapshots, etc.
Advanced proficiency with tuning and monitoring tools such as OEM, and other third-party tools.
Advanced SQL and PL/SQL programming skills with ability to write, debug and tune packages, procedures and functions.
Experience with SQL Net and understanding of networking as it applies to database operations.
Thorough knowledge of UNIX operating system and shell scripting.
Install/configure ASM, experience with SAN/NAS storage technologies such as EMC, NetApp, and ZFS.
Experience with server clustering techniques, data replication technologies and RAC.
