Position: IT Security Architect - Linux
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
Full Time Permanent opportunity

Position Purpose:
This position is responsible assisting in the design, testing, implementation and compliance of Company’s Linux Security architecture. The incumbent will interact with and/or support various technical groups as well as end-users in the performance of their duties. This position is a member of the security architecture team and reports to the Security Architecture Manager. This is a key position within the IT Security group which is responsible for ensuring best practices for data access and preventing data loss.

Main Job Functions and experience
Design of Linux security standards and solutions, this requires coordination with operational and development teams.
Review architecture of new projects to ensure compliance with corporate security standards.
Assess and monitor Company’s security posture against potential threats from unauthorized or malicious users based on best industry practices as well as corporate security policy and standards. Make adjustments as necessary to improve security effectiveness.
Research and implement systems and software solutions to enhance and automate the services of the security team.
Systematically review all production systems for compliance with Company security policies and standards and make recommendations for improving security
Monitor announcements of new security vulnerabilities.
Cross-train in Network and Windows security in order to provide redundant support for these systems.
Provide third level support for Linux security analyst team.
Familiarity with best practices surrounding security incident response. Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, quantify and report on Linux security issues. Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures.
Must have experience in a similar work environment and role, with multiple priorities and deadlines on a daily basis with high attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with all organization levels.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal presentation skills.
Strong leadership skills, ability to gain credibility quickly with existing staff.


4+ years of experience in system architecture, configuration, monitoring, and ongoing compliance Developing and supporting security solutions on the Linux ( RHEL a plus ) and UNIX (Solaris or Aix)
Demonstrated expertise Common industry scanning tools including nmap, nessus, retina, CIS Scoring Tools, tcpdump, etc.
Expertise in Linux Scripting (Bourne, POSIX, C and Korn shells
Exposure to java application servers ( JBOSS, WebSphere, or Tomcat) and relational databases ( Oracle, Postgress, or MySQL )
Knowledge of PKI
Experience with Project management
Desired to have RHCSA, GIAC Certified LINUX Security Administrator; CISSP; CISA
Experience desired in Network Security systems (firewalls, intrusion detection, vulnerability analysis, etc
Working knowledge in DNS, SNMP,SMTP, and HTTP.; LDAP experience
Experience with LDAP
