Position Title: Quality Assurance Lead - Onsite

Functional Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a QA strategy inclusive of people, process and tooling that will drive higher quality and efficiency, while establishing a human resource model that will enable the team to flex as required
Work with Program Leadership to develop and execute QA strategies to meet and exceed Billing program quality goals

Fost er a culture of automated testing, and managing quality, performance, and pre-release testing teams
Set critical quality testing goals and objectives in accordance with Billing's core processes that will enable a successful test strategy execution

Establish Test Operational Measures related to Best Practices Quality Goals
Manage geographically distributed testing teams for Billing; onsite and offshore QA staff and Admin Systems for assigning and directing work
Help maintain QA staff by defining role profiles for team growth and skill acquisition. Recruit, select, orient, and train resources.

Coordinate with the client Services , Technology & Strategic Ventures , Infosys (offshore), & Enterprise Testing and Release Management (Chicago) Leadership in support of Co-sourced staffing model and/or testing alignment
Provide technical expertise in Test Automation, Testing Methodologies, Testing Processes, Tools and Techniques across the testing teams

Test m ethodology:

Provide baseline test sizing and estimates to program leadership for a given release and re-estimate change controls as directed
Be an escalation point for all matters related to testing and quality assurance and operate as a primary point of contact for the testing teams

Drive best practices in adoption and use of quality assurance techniques, including risk analysis, requirements engineering for testable solutions, test driven development, and continuous automation test integration that complement the build, deployment, and validation work streams

Lead and monitor testing execution deliverables (test plans, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis) and identify areas of improvement by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Implement steps required to improve the processes. Keep leadership abreast on testing progress, its health, and issues.
Act as the focal with Vitech, Business Units, QA, Admin Systems to dis cuss and resolve quality problems as required
Gather and present meaningful testing metrics and testing deliverables to the project team and key stakeholders
Define and implement the defect management process to aid with improving the quality of project delivery, monitor defect resolution progress; ensure timely resolution, and provide data for use with mitigation and preventative strategies

Ensure test readiness in accordance with code/data releases
Define Test Data Approach, UAT Test Approach with support of the Business, and Performance Test Approach
Participate in test environment and build release mobilization
Provide input and feedback to performance appraisal for QA resources in a matrix environment
Partner and align with Enterprise Testing operation model. This includes establishing and implementing new offshore/onshore resource models and configuring enterprise automation tools.


Managing day-to-day activities of 7+ offshore/onsite QA resources to design and develop effective incremental testable stub and driver solutions
Participating in the development of project plans by outlining QA tasks, deliverables, deadlines, time estimates, etc. and handle escalation and prioritization of issues as needed

Driving component, functional, integration, regression, acceptance, load, security, scalability, usability and platform tests and overseeing execution by the appropriate QA and Development teams
Confirming tests are executed within the automated continuous testing framework wherever feasible
Maintaining that software release procedures are documented and followed

Ensuring changes occurring outside the Development pipeline, including patching and platform changes, are tested in the same manner as Development changes
Facilitating the execution of a results-driven Quality Management Process that is focused on: customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, employee devel opment and business growth

Reviewing, escalating and coordinating resolution of reported defects
Ensuring new and existing defects are correctly prioritized and remediated by Development teams
Collaborate with Infrastructure and Security teams to monitor applications to ensure applications perform as planned
Build a high performance QA team by hiring, training, coaching and mentoring QA engineers
Presenting an aggregate view of testing utilization to high level management
Being an escalation point for testers

Aligning project schedule with Delivery leads
Estimation, prioritization of testing planning, scripting, executing tasks
Reporting QA results to team and senior leaders
Meeting with Onshore and Offshore team to set goals and gain status on weekly objectives
Meeting with Enterprise and Offshore leaders to provides status on performance and QA strategy
Planning with the Project leadership and execution team members to align near term and long term project deliverables with quality standards

Technical Skills (required/preferred)

Languages: C/C++, SQL, XML, WSDL, JavaScript, JSP, Java, and VB Scripting
Software: SQL*Developer, Microsoft Project, Visio, SharePoint, HP Quality Center
Automation Tools: Karma, SOAPUI, Selenium XDE, iTKO LISA, Cucumber, HP Unified Functional Tester, Load Runner, Neoload, SPLUNK
Environment: Hybrid of Agile and Waterfall approaches

Project Description:

AB is partnering with a vendor to implement a new Billing and Reconciliation system. The new Billing system will handle invoicing and payment processing for our accounts and policies. This Billing system replaces the Billing components on 2 admin systems (Life70 Mainframe Genelco AS400) and our proprietary payment processing and reconciliation system - EasyBill. The Billing project is 18 months underway.

This is an onsite assignment and remote work is not allowed. The client will not allow any extended time off during the duration of the project.
