Job Title: -Associate Director, Informatics Analysis
Location: - Glendale, CA
Duration: -Full Time
SUMMARY
Under general direction, provides process oversight, analytical expertise, technical interpretive writing, and project management support.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting in the day-to-day project management and analytic activities in the area of Informatics, while serving as the Department’s resident statistician.
This includes developing analytic work plans and timelines; overseeing process and data systems design; performing data manipulation and analytic activities; documenting and overseeing all project tasks; organizing and maintaining project files; providing regular progress reports to the Executive Director; and providing feedback and updates to other members of the Informatics team.
Responsibilities will also include conducting conference calls and/or attending meetings with clients as needed.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the day-to-day project management and analytic activities on a wide array of Informatics projects, including Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) projects and Medicaid External Quality Review Organization (EQRO) contracts.
Assist in the evaluation of process development on a wide array of projects, including establishing appropriate methods for data collection, data warehousing, and data analysis.
Coordinate, communicate and provide updates to the Informatics team relating to all active projects.
Participate in providing technical input on RFP responses.
Assist in the development of analytic task schedules.
Manage and oversee the production of project reports.
Lead project conference calls with clients on an as needed basis.
Present to local, regional, and national groups as required.
Provide training to Informatics staff in the area of statistics and SAS data analysis.
Serve as an analytic expert during client interactions on an as needed basis.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in public health, economics, statistics, or other quantitative discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of seven (7) years recent experience performing and/or overseeing analytic activities in a health care setting.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in managing operations of quality management activities.
Experience analyzing eligibility, claims/encounter, provider, health care survey, and other forms of health care data using SAS.
Proven track record of evaluating processes and developing process improvement plans.
Demonstrated proficiency in project management including development and tracking of budget and timelines, and experience in completing a project on time and within budget.
Experience in data management, analysis and reporting, including the development of relational databases used to perform automated reporting activities in SAS.
Extensive knowledge of statistical techniques pertinent to a health care data environment.
Advanced knowledge of the SAS programming language, including Base SAS, SAS/MACRO, SAS/STAT, and SAS/GRAPH.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Ability to type 50 words per minute with minimal errors.
