Power Systems Consultant/SME-New York, USA -FULLTIME

Relevant Experience
(in Yrs) 10-12 years in Electric & gas utility sector out of which at least 5+ years of experience on power system analysis tools
Technical/Functional Skills
Knowledge on power system network topology, network modelling, network planning, and distribution power flow, harmonic analysis, protection calculations
Hands on experience on Power System Applications of CYME / ABB / Alstom / GE / Schneider / Siemens
GIS and/or Python Scripting experience will be an added advantage.

Proven knowledge of hardware, software and architecture used in power system applications and consulting level experience.

Experienced resource from Electric Utilities and/or Consulting Entities servicing this area will be preferred
Experience Required Experienced candidate having experience in one or more of the following areas:

Expertise on network modelling and running various studies to determine the stability of the network.

Experience in power system analysis tools of different vendors (e.g., CYME, ASPEN, ABB, Alstom Grid, GE Energy, Siemens Energy)
Experienced in working in an AGILE workflow model
Experience on network planning, network design, network tracing, and power flow applications.

The candidate should also have a strong understanding of:

Roles & Responsibilities Specific responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Work with customers to gather and develop business and technical requirements while also supporting the development of the customer’s Technical Specifications, Architecture and design roadmap
Support the implementation of the selected systems through the entire SDLC and including database and display development or conversion; design and build activities; system integration and testing; system cutover planning; support of parallel operations and/or trial cutover; training and documentation, user acceptance testing and system commissioning
Manage, oversee and coordinate all aspects of the project from initial planning through completion of project
Help translate a wide variety of client needs/requirements into detailed proposals and project plans to meet project’s requirements
Proactively communicate project requirements and other key aspects on a regular basis through monthly updates and other updates as critical developments occur.
Manage all interfaces and communication between client and Project Team and business stakeholders
Ensure clarity of expectations for project deliverables from all project participants whilst identifying potential project risks and develop/implement strategies to minimize impact

Strong problem-solving skills using a methodical approach
Ability to create consensus among different stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to the project/application stakeholders.
Willingness to travel across multiple sites / cities of the client.
Education • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related Engineering Discipline
Min. 10 years of experience working in projects for Utilities and DMS
