Title:Senior User Experience (UX) Designer

Position Description:

We are looking for a Senior User Experience (UX) Designer for an exciting project in Chantilly, VA supporting the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA This project supports the implementation of the Enterprise Veterans Self Service (EVSS) Portal and enables the VA to educate, empower, and connect Veterans while standardizing platforms to lower overall costs. This is a marquis system at the VA and has enormous visibility at all levels up the chain-of-command; it is an enterprise scale development. The daily environment is very faced-paced, with team members situated in 4 different locations.

As the Senior User Experience Designer, you will contribute to improving and personalizing user experiences on a large, public facing website. You will support design sessions with our team and clients to clarify user requirements, understand user roles, create user-centric designs, test with users, and incorporate feedback into the design. You will work with clients, architects and developers to ensure the designs are feasible and can be delivered as designed.

You will provide scientific discipline focusing on the interaction among humans and other elements of the system and apply theory, principles, unbiased observation of human behavior, data, and other methods to optimize user productivity, reduce IT costs, and maximize overall system performance. You will bring to the project industry best practices and tools for designing, developing, and deploying our new features. You will have an opportunity to make a real impact on the quality of our users'' experience and in improving our customer satisfaction scores.

Your responsibilities will include:

Driving the user experience components of medium to large efforts
Planning and executing a User Centered Design process
Creating wireframes, prototypes, comps, journeys, and interaction requirements to illustrate and define digital experience and design
Using digital experience best practices to efficiently support fast moving efforts
Identifing, performing, synthesizing, and incorporating user experience research and digital analytics
Ensuring solutions meet accessibility standards
Creating visuals to illustrate digital experience concepts and designs
Presenting bold, out of the box ideas in a convincing way
Collaborating with clients, business analysts, architects, and developers to ensure feasible and timely design solutions improve customer experience and satisfaction
Serving as a consultant and liaison to both client and internal teams
Coaching teams and clients (stakeholders) through tradeoffs with technology and resources to maximize positive impact on the user experience of the final product

To qualify, you must have these basic qualifications:

3-5 years of experience

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, including:

Human Computer Interaction
Human Factors
Interactive Design
Arts Technology
Designing, conducting, and creating high and low fidelity wireframes
Creating interactive prototypes
Designing for multiple platforms
Designing, performing, and incorporating user research
Designing to meet accessibility standards
Excellent communication abilities and high social intelligence
