Sr. Electrical Engineer
Location – Houston, TX
Duration – 6 months

The need is for someone who can do both firmware and electronics for sensors near drill bits. They have no electrical or firmware currently in their group (it’s all mechanical engineers and a few surface software people), so this person would have to be able to handle the work as the only electrical person on an all mechanical team.

Key Responsibilities:
Consultant will apply their knowledge in electrical engineering to develop embedded hardware and firmware for downhole tools
Work as integral part of multi-discipline team including project management, mechanical engineering, assembly & test and software teams.
Participate in developing and analyzing design requirements
Investigate problems in design, recommend and implement solutions
Execute designs and test plans to ensure systems meet written specifications and requirements for functionality and performance

Basic Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering. MS is preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Desired/Preferred Qualifications (some or all of the following):
Experience in analog and mixed signal circuit design including:
o Understanding of signal integrity principles and noise reduction techniques
o Fluency with PCB schematic and circuit simulation programs
o Familiar with PCB layout and its effect on circuit performance
o Experience with signal conditioning/analog filtering
o Familiar with ADCs and conversion protocols
o Sensor interface circuit design
Understanding of data acquisition instrumentation and methods
Experience with data analysis tools such as Matlab, Mathcad, etc.
Experience in downhole tool design is a plus
