JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Software Quality Engineering department provides independent software verification and validation services to assure the quality of software products prior to manufacture and/or customer release. Department team members work as a team to assure quality compliance by following the business unit’s Standard Operation Procedures and Work Instructions. Processes are derived from FDA guiding principles for verifying and validating medical device software.
PURPOSE:
Provide independent verification of software products that have been developed according to pre-approved software design requirements and specifications. Independently develops, maintains and executes test cases both manual and automated. Discovers, documents and tracks software defects in defect tracking database. Plans and implements the setup of test environments to perform functional testing of integrated software and hardware in a lab setting. Facilitates the core project team to ensure all facets of software product testing is accomplished within project timelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Minimum Five (5) years formal software test experience
JOB DUTIES:
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge of software quality engineering and testing methods at all levels (unit, integration, system, V&V, acceptance) applied within the software development lifecycle
Perform test planning; Develop and execute test cases (black box & white box)
Test automation experience is desired
Self-motivated
Team player
Previous SW development experience in C/C#/C++ is preferred
Previous work experience on medical device in FDA regulated industry is a plus
