This job requires an experienced Wi-Fi Network Engineer to lead various Wi-Fi activities and is a part of a team responsible for delivering best-in-class Wi-Fi services to Verizon Wireless customers. The area of focus will be on the network implementation, solutions deployment, performance and operational aspects of the Stadium Wi-Fi initiative that aligns with Verizon’s business goals.

Candidate will be responsible for:
Partnering with various Network organizations to define, design, validate/test, deploy, and support any performance and operational improvements and troubleshooting issues across various regions/venues supporting Verizon’s Stadium Wi-Fi.
Working in a cross-functional, cross-regional team that implements appropriate technology and vendor strategies; performing end-to-end testing; and delivering end-to-end Services that meets performance, security, and operational requirements.
Partner with various Network teams and vendors to implement, test, and validate various service enhancements to the existing Stadium Wi-Fi systems. This also includes developing and executing test plans utilizing a set of phones to validate the Stadium Wi-Fi systems, collecting logs, and verifying all results for accuracy.
Managing vendor performance and assessing existing and future product capabilities and limitations
Following existing policies / procedures and developing required new service processes that are aligned with project direction

Required Skills:
Solid experience in the Wireless and Data Communications field and extensive knowledge of the industry’s ecosystem. Specific technical background in Wi-Fi (802.11), mobile communications (3GPP), and mobile platforms.
Knowledge of enterprise routing, VPNs, and maintenance with any or all of the following vendors: Cisco, Ericsson, Nokia (fALU
Solid experience in Wi-Fi network equipment design, implementation, networking and service integration.
Security protocols and authentication (EAP-AKA) and 802.1x protocols
Proficient in SNMP/MIB alarming and interfaces.
Leadership skills, self-initiative, project management skills, and results oriented.
Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Networking, or Computer Science.
5 years experience in the telecommunications industry
Excellent written and verbal skills, and the ability to present and interact with cross-functional organizations

Desired Skills & Experience
Experience with flexible product development life-cycles, roadmaps, and gate processes
CCNA, CCIE or equivalent certification
Understanding of RF fundamentals, specifically pertaining to Wi-Fi, understanding of 802.11r.
