Responsibilities
Establish departmental responsibilities for Product Development, Support and Operations, and manage entire Engineering organization consisting of Software Engineers, Support Engineers, Quality Engineers, Project Managers, and Trainers, to support the company''s mission of eliminating waiting in line.

Recruit, hire, train and supervise all Engineering staff.

Direct Product Development organization to build web-based and mobile applications and Web services, including collaborating on architecture and design of new systems, reviewing code, setting priorities, managing project schedules, and mentoring team, which currently delivers 2-3 new product releases per week.

Be able to be a hands-on contributor to product code base on a regular basis, and stay current with product features and technologies in use, including Java, J2EE, Javascript, HTML, JBoss, JMS, JMX, JAX-RS, Asterisk, Websocket, MySQL, Zabbix, Google App Engine, and Ubuntu Linux.

Direct Support organization to provide 24/7 global online, e-mail, and phone support to thousands of users on five continents.

Track and adhere to multiple levels of SLAs for Support issues and server responsiveness / uptime.

Maintain, secure, monitor, support, backup, and configure all servers in five different data centers, in three different countries, used by over two million people each month, including production application and database servers, test servers, continuous integration servers, monitoring servers, source code repositories, customer support site, issue tracking systems, and corporate intranet. (this is the skill we want to hire most urgently)

Personally ensure that all QLess services meet a 99.9% uptime guarantee, by being available to respond to incidents 24/7/365.

Prepare and present weekly reports on all progress within Product Development and Operations / Support, including communication of dozens of Key Performance Indicators.

Develop and interpret organizational goals, policies, and procedures, and develop individual goals as part of annual 360 review process for all Engineering team members.

Evaluate the organization''s technology use and needs and direct architecture of all systems and software.

Develop policies, processes, and systems to provide for data security and control, and disaster recovery, to ensure compliance with multiple customers'' data security and privacy requirements.

Coordinate project plans within Product Development and Support to ensure successful on-time launch of new customers, and provide support to existing customers.

Coordinate activities between Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams regarding product road map, customer requirements, pricing of new features, marketing of new products, and support of all products.

Meet with department heads, team members, vendors, customers, and partners, to solicit cooperation, meet customer requirements, communicate new features, and resolve problems.

Act as a significant contributor to the pre-sales process, including developing technical responses to RFPs, meeting with potential customers, and presenting product demonstrations
