Role: Telecom Engineer

Length: 12 Months
Location: Plano, TX
The Telecom Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, deploying and supporting TFS''s Legacy telecom and IP telephony voice communication infrastructure. He/she must ensure that service is continuous and uninterrupted by proactively identifying and resolving potential issues. He/she must provide Level 3 support and work with the Operations Team to assist in rapidly troubleshooting and resolving performance problems, as needed. This individual is also responsible for configuring and optimizing all telephony systems and services.
Responsible for maintaining relationships with all network service providers (carriers He/she must work with the IT Operations, VoIP Engineering team, Data Network Engineering team and Telephony Systems/Contact Center Administrators/SMEs to ensure that Voice services, capacity and bandwidth are properly planned and implemented for TFS''s current and future needs. Hands on experience with voice, video and unified communications technologies. Should be ok with occasional travel to install and turn up VOIP equipment.

Design, document, and deliver telecom solutions.
Lead the developing telecom solutions along with proof of concept implementation.
Review and improve current voice\telecom environment.
Provide occasional level-3 support for production incidents.
Contribute to multi-disciplined teams to deliver modern telecom solutions.
Conduct installs of telecom equipment, configuration of network equipment, Client and telecom equipment.

Skills Needed:
Oracle Client configuration and setup experience.
Proficient with Lync 2013 O365 deployments and\or on-premise Lync 2013.
Proficient in working with various telecom carriers – Telecommunication, Level3 etc. to manage Network routing, provisioning and testing SIP circuits.
VOIP\SIP experience with ability to run captures and review logs and troubleshoot problems.
Data Networking knowledge to understand network subnets, VLANs, routing and firewall.
Ability to conduct training classes for new feature roll outs.

Design skills:
With the ability to review business requirements and suggest appropriate telecom solutions.
Good task management and follow skills to follow up with multiple vendors to deliver the complete solution.
Excellent documentation skills.

Nice to Have:
Data networking background – ability to understand switch and router configurations.
Experience in implementing a CISCO VOIP solution.
