Key Responsibilities to Include:
Partnering with Architects and Application Development teams to understand requirements of a given project/application
Accountability to influence technical solutions to meet those requirements and reduce firm wide cost, maintaining resiliency and control requirements, leveraging standard building blocks
Partnering with internal experts from the Service Towers in review of any edge case design or net new product requirement (we do not work standalone)
Understanding fundamental GTI standard solution gaps, which are legitimate and which have biggest ROI to fix, or reduce TCO
Monitoring book of work to completion and ensuring project success - Scoping, Resourcing, Project Management is appropriate for efforts
Evaluate technologies, solutions and applications to identify cost saving opportunities
Understanding in detail the current asset base, its volumes, location, costs, age, and data quality
Breaking down cost components of current infrastructure and modeling solutions in an accelerated manner to identify new opportunities
Mapping current technology opportunities to new internal services or actionable initiatives
Determining costs benefits of a technology governance model across entire portfolio
Analyzing impact of new technologies on existing services and identifying and scoping efficiencies across the estate
Work dynamically across many globally diverse virtual teams to deliver strategic initiatives
Building strong partnerships with service owner teams and LoB teams

Skills & Experience

Soft skills/attributes required for this role:

Hard Skills / Requirements:
IBM Mainframe - platforms(SP, SA and TSplex Appliance and specialty processors), storage, CPU Utilization, CICS, IMS, VSAM and DB2
Broad base technical knowledge covering - Critical:
Knowledge of multi-processing and multi-threading, platform/component design elements
Understanding Active/Active, Recovery methodologies at storage, network and DB layers
Proven experience managing and working with culturally diverse and geographically distributed teams
Experience working through an application lifecycle from start to finish including Agile development methodologies
Experience troubleshooting a project gone wrong and working to fix it, adjusting to major scope/design change
Demonstrated ability establishing credibility with partners, along with presenting to and influencing senior management
Key Differentiators for Ideal candidate:
15+ years of IT experience
Multi-Year experience as an infrastructure Mainframe architect
Experience with large scale transaction systems, enterprise data systems, and highly resilient systems
Strong Application Development function and Infrastructure function
Experience working within a large global organization financial industry experience desired
Experience at working in a matrix management model, utilizing virtual teams
Excellent communicator at all levels of the organization
Deep analytical skills with ability to manage large and complicated data sets
