Description:

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Mandatory:

Role is for a Systems Engineer with Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) experience or interest, to learn from GNC Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and take over duties of GNC assessments of Sniper.

This will include consistent tool development and data review, response to customer Deficiency Reports, flight test evaluations, flight or integration anomalies, requirement verification, and other data collection activities.

The role will be supporting Algorithm COE investigation of Sniper deficiency reports and supporting Sniper algo IRAD work, as well as supporting integration events on new platforms such as IMU timing and verification of taxi test and flight test data.

Work will include new LN200 model IMU assessment for accelerometer changes from the supplier. During 2016, the successful candidate will work closely with current SMEs, acquire and adapt tools for assessment, and create clear workflows and templates for processing typical data to add permanence and structure to analysis on Sniper.

In 2017, the candidate will shift more time to supporting Sniper IRADs for GPS Denied environments and inclusion of the LM Proprietary IOTA algorithms into Sniper base code, as well as urgent flight issues as they occur. This 2017 work will include test and evaluation of data and pod operation at various code and integration levels, creation of analyses and documenting standard tasks and processes for analysis to improve learning curve for future engineers.

Desired:

Advanced knowledge in programming languages such as FORTRAN, MATLAB, C and C++ is desired.
