Our client, a provider of critical solutions for communication on land, at sea, and in the air and space, by moving data through off-the-shelf and customized products, seeks an accomplished Senior Systems Engineer.

Generates overall system architectures and definitions for assigned programs.
Uses systems approach for conceptualizing, modelling, planning, designing, testing and documenting aircraft and aircraft related electro-mechanical, mechanical and control systems.
Identifies system level requirements and prepares system, subsystem and component specifications, schematic diagrams, and interface control documents for aircraft life support and air handling systems.
Leads Integrated Product Teams, including systems, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering throughout the lifecycle of product/system realization.
Interacts with customers to develop compliant product designs leading to successful system integrations.
Generates project engineering plans in accordance with project, cost and schedule requirements.
Develops system level integration, validation and verification plans and procedures.
Ensures system design is in compliance with technical, regulatory and commercial requirements.
Identifies and assesses technical and programmatic risk and risk mitigation methods.
Develops and reviews estimates and proposals.
Performs research to characterize aircraft interfaces, identify emerging technologies and new business opportunities.
Makes recommendations for Internal, Research and Development projects.

Completed BS in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in aircraft systems development, integration and test.
Experience in application of fluid mechanics.
Experience determining and validating system requirements for new product development.
Experience in conducting Research & Development projects.
Experience with mechanical, electromechanical, and fluid or gas handling systems.
Experience with controls architecture development and implementation.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or familiarity with pilot / air crew aircraft life support equipment and operation strongly preferred.
Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
Degree or background with human physiology, particularly respiratory systems and/or chemical engineering.
Experience in aircraft systems such as life support, oxygen, environmental control systems, etc.
Experience in both military and commercial aircraft systems design.
Familiar with military pilot chem/bio gear and primary, backup and emergency oxygen systems.
Strong requirements management skills including leading the derivation and decomposition to lower level requirements, maintaining requirements traceability and managing by requirements performance metrics.
Experienced user of DOORS.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience in certifying for DO178, DO254 and Air Worthiness standards (FAA & DoD
Experience utilizing Earned Value Management.
