Job Title: Infrastructure Administrator (AIX)
Location: US-TX-Plano (Only Locals)
Duration: 12 months

The primary objective of the Infrastructure Administrator is to provide third level infrastructure support and design in our IBM AIX environment. This individual will provide technical consulting across IT Operations and is responsible for ensuring a stable AIX environment. This position identifies solutions to complex problems and creates new methods, automation and/or processes to improve Heartland IT AIX technologies. This position will develop a customer care and service management philosophy that ensures customer satisfaction. The ability to work and coordinate projects between departments is required. Strong relationships with IT departments and key customers are crucial to success.

Responsible for providing operational support for highly critical IBM AIX LPAR environment.
Install, configure and administer IBM AIX.
Design and implement server infrastructure based on business requirements.
Manage and configure VIO client partitions.
Maintain build, configuration, and compliance standards.
Automate and document system processes using common scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell, PowerShell or comparable technology.
Manage configuration for AIX and RHEL systems using configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible or comparable technology.
Manage and diagnose error reports and provide root cause and resolution.
Manage and monitor capacity, file system, performance, and overall health of systems.
Establish documentation and standards for new and existing systems.
Ensure daily operational tasks needed for optimal performance and stability are carried out.
Seek ways to actively improve the stability, performance, monitoring, security, and backups of HPS systems.
Adhere to IT processes and procedures to ensure a stable computing environment (i.e. Project planning and scoping, Change Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, etc

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
ITIL Foundation certified preferred.
Strong understanding of managing and monitoring IBM LPARs and physical systems in a large corporate multi-Datacenter environment.
Deep understanding of AIX performance analysis and tuning on large LPARs with unique workloads.
Strong technical skills in installing, configuration and administration of AIX.
Configure and manage VIO client partitions.
Configure and manage networking in AIX.
Configure and manage storage in AIX.
Experience with NIM Client operations and NFS.
Have strong knowledge of system backup and recovery.
Technical skills in administration of RHEL, Satellite, AIX, NIM, Active Directory integration technologies such as Centrify.
Backup administration, monitoring, and best practice using Veem, Avamar or similar technology.
Patching administration, monitoring, and best practice.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives from various business units.
Effective presentation, documentation, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a team-oriented approach are necessary.
Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively in a fast-moving, rapidly changing environment.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

Additional Success Factors
Minimum 4 years’ experience developing, implementing and managing systems in a multi-datacenter environment.
Experience with deployment and system build automation.
Experience with Private and Public Cloud Services.
Experience working with geographically dispersed teams and customer base.
Experience providing and keeping systems compliant under multiple guidelines, PCI, SOX, SSAE16.
Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
