Job Title: MicroStrategy Business Intelligence Developer
Location: US-TX-Plano (Only Locals)
Duration: 12 months


The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for working within the BI team to deliver reporting and dashboard solutions for the business needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate accountability, flexibility and adaptability to handle multiple and changing priorities and be able to successfully collaborate with development teams, technology groups, and key business partners.


Performing analysis, design, development and implementation of new reporting requirements and providing estimates to support timelines and deliverables.
Designing and building grids, graphs, scorecards, standard reports and dashboards.
Creating and/or enhancing report objects, metrics, filters and prompts.
Validating report results against requirement deliverables for accuracy.
Troubleshooting and analyzing data issues within reports
Collaborating with business partners to provide technical report assistance
Following and enhancing BI standards and best practices across the team
Ensuring optimal end user performance by establishing and consistently executing overall system performance assessment processes and associated action plans.


Education/Certification: BS/BA in IT or related field or equivalent experience.

Required Knowledge:

5+ Years of Information Technology experience with a strong focus on Data Warehousing and Enterprise Reporting solutions.
3+ years experience with developing applications, reports, and dashboards using MicroStrategy is REQUIRED.
3+ years experience with developing reports using Microsoft SSRS is REQUIRED.
Strong, hands on experience with MicroStrategy SDK programming is preferred.
MicroStrategy certification or familiarity with version 9 is a strong plus.
3+ years experience working with data warehouses is required.
Strong SQL skills and experience with performance tuning are required.

Experience Required:

Extensive hands-on technical experience using data warehouse, business intelligence and analytics products.
Experience in working with building customer centric data models from disparate, siloed sources.
Experience in data analysis and mapping.
Expertise in the creation and usage of metadata.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is strongly preferred.
Comprehensive understanding of systems, applications, and/or networks so that practical solutions can be provided that factor system performance, usability, quality, cross system interdependencies, and scalability.
Excellent written, verbal, and documentation skills required. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with the ability to appropriately prioritize tasks as needed.
