The Office of Chief Information Security officer is researching enterprise solutions for Data loss prevention (DLP) in the Santa Clara County environment to protect critical and sensitive information. Our goal is to protect SCC data, customer data, individual user data and patient medical records. The Information security engineer will report to the CISO office and under direction will oversee and coordinate the research and implementation of DLP technology. Other duties may include: evaluating complex information security issues, developing solutions to address immediate cyber security needs, and working with the CISO team on related information security projects.DLP is an essential piece of the defense-in-depth strategy and will help significantly in protecting SCC''s information assets. Skills Requirement
:• Experience working with DLP policy creation, lexicon development (writing, updating, maintaining), remediation efforts of data loss, DLP solution and agent deployment, email integration, proxy integration, scanning, and support;
Collaborates with compliance and privacy teams to address corrective action plans;
Provides technical input to Countywide information security policies, procedures, standards and practices;
Coordinates with vendors to resolve implementation issues;
Conducts research to identify alternatives for resolving information security issues and collaborates with senior technical staff from all departments to develop specifications for hardware and software information security systems;
Assists the Chief Information Security Officer in collaborating with information security vendors to perform third-party information security audits and coordination with departments;
Collaborates with technical staff of other IT groups to ensure quality and timeliness of information security related projects;
Ability to work closely with agencies and department technical and managerial resources;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to work independentlyKnowledge of:
Data Loss Prevention policy creation, deployment, integration, scanning, and support;• Engineering, design, install, and support of security technologies such as Security Incident and Event Managers (SIEM), Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IPS), Endpoint Security, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Vulnerability Management (VM), Threat Intelligence, Threat Detection, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Email Gateways, Breach Mitigation, Certificate Management, SSL encryption and decryption, Identity Management, Cloud Security, Database Security, Web Gateways, VPNs, and Firewalls.
Network engineering and design principles, practices, terminology, trends and usage utilized by large complex organizations;
IT security principles, practices, terminology, standards, laws, and trends;
Network services such as email transport, directory services and active directory;
Cloud and virtual technologies – networking, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service;Experience Requirement:
2 to 4 years working on Data Loss Prevention solutions ;
3 to 5 years working as a Cyber Security Professional (i.e. Security Engineer, Security Analyst, or related role)Responsibilities:
Design, develop and implement a DLP strategy and solution
Provide guidance to the CISO team on DLP and security related items
