Job Description:
Bachelor''s degree in Computer science or equivalent, with minimum of 7 years of overall experience.
5+ years of experience supporting server infrastructure (UNIX, INTEL, EMC Storage, DBMS, Remedy, HP BAC, BMC ProactiveNet), mainframe (z/OS, VTAM, JES3, CA7, ESP), data center, and production environments with increasing levels of responsibility.
At least 3 years as a Team Leader in organizations managing complex highly available technology infrastructure and applications.
Microsoft Certification (MCSE) also a plus.
Works with a high degree of independence. Required to review distributed server statistics, logs, monitoring tool output, customer input and decide course of action to maintain system availability.
Accountable for availability of Servers, Production Environment , the Storage Area network environment, and Web sites.
Experience in a complex 24X7 shift operations role with emphasis on supporting day-to-day Infrastructure Operations in a large enterprise environment including various LAN, WAN, Internet, Windows server technologies and network and systems management tools.
Strong background in analyzing performance data, troubleshooting complex network and systems issues, and leading cross-functional teams in problem resolution.
The ideal candidate has a passion for operational excellence, service delivery, and continuous process improvement.
He/she must be a high-energy performer able to prioritize and resolve problems quickly to achieve results.
Strong technical experience, including the ability to implement positive change and motivate others.
Must possess knowledge of Server OS technologies ( Windows, Unix, Linux)
12.5 hrs per day, 3 days a week
Shift changes once in 10 weeks
Proactively monitors all hardware and software platforms for the company. Ensures system uptime, performance, and availability service levels are maintained at all times for all production systems.
Proactively works with multiple vendors and other IT departments to deliver on availability targets and SLA goals.
Provide consistent monitoring and support for all distributed server computing platforms (e.g.,VMWare, UNIX and Windows
Support planning, testing, deployment, service and support, enhancements, and product retirement for computing platform(s
Provide input into operational and tactical planning for the computing platform(s
Use performance and monitoring tools to ensure maximum reliability and availability of the systems and/or technologies in the computing platform(s)/environments (7x24x365
Collaborate with other I/T support groups, management, and vendors for problem escalation/resolution.
Perform level 1 support for Windows and Unix system issues by addressing backup failure and system resource threshold incident tickets. -Monitors work flow and equipment use, and ensures hardware/software logs are maintained.
Adheres to all policies, procedures and standards in place for the data center.
Continual training on new products and technologies.
Participates in the Corporate Business Resumption exercises.
Administers software changes and monitors to detect inconsistencies.
Coordinates problem determination efforts with other technical support groups and vendors, if required, to expedite recovery from an out of service condition.
Helps train (CS3) operators on procedures and best practices for all areas within Computer operations (Storage Area network, Distributed Server environment and I-Net Applications.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Ability to use strong industry knowledge to relate to customer needs and dissolve customer concerns and high level of focus and attention to detail.
