Position Description:
The Data Business Analyst works closely with the Inspections project manager, business analysts, data architects and applications developers. He/she will be primarily responsible for the mapping of data elements from the “as-is” to the “to-be” system, verifying proper conversion of data and communicating to the project team, business areas and management on the status of assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Specific Duties:
Provide assistance for client personnel who are performing business analysis services.
Facilitate the conversion of data from flat mainframe IMS legacy data to a relational model. Analyze and assess what may or may not have been populated.
Develop and maintain test plans for unit testing, system testing and user acceptance testing.
Analyze business processes and make recommendations to improve productivity, efficiency, and develop performance metrics to evaluate changes.
Provide Business Process Management (includes process mapping, gap analysis, etc.
Assist client in the review of the business analysis templates, methodologies, and processes.
Provide Requirements Planning and Monitoring.
Provide Requirements Gathering, Requirements Analysis and Documentation.
Provide Requirements Management and Communication.
Provide Solution Assessment and Validation, including pros and cons of various scenarios.
Plan, develop, manage, and conduct testing.
Prepare user documentation including help documentation.
Plan, develop, manage, and conduct user training.

Required Skills and Experience
1. Required: Understanding of relational databases, data models, ER diagrams required: 5+ year’s full-time experience as a quality assurance tester/SME for large and complex information technology projects.
2. Required: Ability to write moderately involved SQL statements (basic table joins with 2-4 tables, select statements within select statements
3. Required: Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with business and IT staff at all levels of an organization, including executive staff.
4. Required: Strong leadership skills with the ability to make decisions and motivate others to complete tasks.
5. Desired: 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst working on large, complex information technology projects.
