WebFOCUS Developer Job requirements:
Overview:
As a WebFOCUS developer you are expected to be involved in all facets of BI application design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance. You must be capable of working independently without close supervision. You will architect small applications as well as individual modules within larger applications. You will formulate client requirements into a written form and transforms them into specifications/mockups.
Performs data analysis and if required, recommend changes in the database to facilitate the reporting application. You will help customers understand best practices for working with WebFOCUS in their environment
Core requirements:
1. At least 4 5 years of WebFOCUS 7 or higher experience in developing WebFOCUS reports and BI Dashboards utilizing both (GUI and Coding Out of that, at least one year experience must be on WebFOCUS8.
2. Hands on experience on HTML/JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheets for creating UI for WebFOCUS reports in a self-service environment.
3. Working knowledge of Database Management Systems, including both legacy DBMS¿s and relational/SQL DBMS¿s.
4. Strong experience with embedded SQL
5. Experience in gathering requirements, performing data analysis, data mapping.
6. Ability to write documentation that supports the coding and meets corporate standards.
7. Understanding of other Information Builders tools related to WebFOCUS such as Dashboard, User Administration, ReportCaster, ReportLibrary, AccessList, and DistributionList.
8. Experience in application development, application deployment, application maintenance, and problem resolution
9. Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.
General requirements:
1. Interface and communicate with business customers, team leads, architects and other solution developers for scope, estimates, requirements and project deliverables
2. Handle all aspects of systems life cycle for BI Reporting development process.
3. Exposure to multiple Database Management Systems, with exposure to SQL based DBMS¿s a plus
4. Handle multiple project assignments with minimal direction and escalate issues as necessary to the management
5. Demonstrated commitment to quality and project timing
6. Strong drive for results and ability to work independently
Minimum education/training required:
¿ Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
