IT project Manager with good data analytics experience
Location – Tacoma, WA | 12 month initial commitment
Start date – August 2017 | Candidate needs to be on site.

Candidate should ideally have 10-15 years of project management with a good, solid background in Analytics, and in managing analytics based projects. Utility experience is a big plus.


Working Title: Senior Project Manager

Purpose: Lead the development and management of strategic, enterprise-wide IT projects, and integrate an understanding of data and analytics into the existing and future decision-making processes of the entire organization, specifically in the areas of risk management, performance management, and technology.

Ideally, this Manager will drive solutions by recommending and adopting suitable tools and technology. This will involve Integrating cross-functional systems across the client Enterprise, developing various frameworks and tools that are tailored to existing and future decision-making processes, as well as identifying and providing timely communication of strategic barriers and recommended solutions.

The candidate needs to have strong communication, should be able to navigate the business groups to get their buy in, and develop business cases to build capacity. The client is looking to strongly incorporate technologies in these new areas to achieve the stated goals. The candidate must be able to evaluate existing and future solutions, but should also have also have strategic vision, to enable the application and use of technology to achieve these solutions.

Candidate should have very strong overall IT Project management experience (will be managing multiple and diverse IT related projects This would include the usual experience having to do with every SW project - budget, scope, schedule, resourcing, steering committee meetings, etc…PMP or PMI certification is not required, but a big plus. 1 of the big high profile projects this person will lead, is in the DW / BI / reporting space. Previous Hadoop, Hana, Tableau, MS Azure experience would also be a huge plus. They are not looking for architects or developers, they really need a higher level project manager. Strong Verbal and written communication is absolutely required.


Key Results Areas:
1. Risk Management
a. Description: Manage the risk management project, including internal staff and consultant support, using professional project management principles and communication techniques.
b. Accountability: Development of initiative scopes in early 2017, and achievement of all milestones as identified in risk management assessment initiative that is yet to be scoped, and related follow-on initiatives, as necessary.
2. Technology Deployment and Integration
a. Description: Manage cross-functional teams that support technology-related initiatives, to include
