Barrister Global Services Network Inc. is currently looking for a motivated, highly detailed, organized and outgoing individual to support one of our major nationwide clients. The successful applicant should be able to quickly adapt their knowledge to the current IT environment and be able to enhance the current systems in place. They should also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills so as to be understood by technical and non-technical personnel.

Job Summary :

In this position you will be responsible for developing and deploying integrated solutions aimed at modernizing, consolidating and coordinating the independently designed applications within one or more business segments. Develop solutions requiring analysis and research. The right candidate for this job will be the one who is able to work on IT projects, products and activities that may span a broad range of systems and complex components that are used across one or more business segments. This position requires solid knowledge across multiple technical environments and possesses increased level business knowledge. You will work on one or more projects as a project team member or infrequently as a project lead. Coaching and/or mentoring more junior technical staff may be one of your responsibilities. Typically requires four (4) years of programming/systems analysis experience with emphasis in applications and systems architectural design and development, database and middleware technologies.

Essential Job Functions:
Determines how existing applications, legacy systems, databases, Web interfaces and/or hardware logic, which may be currently operating on multiple platforms, work together to meet the new and emerging requirements of the business segment(s) and/or enterprise.
Recommends methods to efficiently reuse existing components.
Works with users to gather business requirements, performs database analysis, codes and tests middleware routines to ensure successful and seamless communication among the various IT systems and application components.
Participates in component and data architecture design, software product evaluation and buy vs. build recommendations.



Requirements :

Possesses a minimum of seven (7) years’ professional experience performing activities directly related to IA
Demonstrated experience leading and implementing modern integration and interoperability (e.g. Service Oriented Architecture “SOA”, web services, data services) initiatives in complex organizations
Expert-level, production experience in the use of modern integration and interoperability tools, suites, and techniques
Verifiable communication (verbal and written), leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills interacting with high-level leadership (e.g. CIO) to functional and technical staff-level positions
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, and Visio
Experience with financial ERP applications


Preferred :

Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
Demonstrated experience leading and implementing modern integration and interoperability initiatives in federal or state government organizations
Demonstrated, recent software engineering and implementation experience in the area of IA
Active EA or equivalent certification, and/or equivalent experience (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman )
Possesses expert-level skills in the development and maintenance of IA artifacts and catalogs in accordance with an industry-recognized EA framework
Demonstrated experience supporting technology activities for a financial ERP implementation or a similarly-sized transformative technology project
Experience working with State agencies or other state governments similar in size in terms of annual budget and full-time equivalent (FTE) employee count
Experience with newer integration and interoperability patterns such as apps and services architecture, micro services, and software-defined application services
