Qualifications:
Must have significant experience in Waterfall AND Agile practices. Ability to introduce Agile concepts in a Waterfall environment and transition Agile. Conduct release planning meetings.
Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, feedback meetings, sprint reviews/retrospectives, etc.
Remove impediments to team progress
Successfully manage Work in Progress (WIP)
General Education, Skills or Experience and Other Requirements:
5+ years practical experience serving as Scrum Master with a strong comprehension of Agile values and principles
-5+ years practical experience with Program Management
Strong interpersonal/communication skills with proven ability to escalate and remove impediments from the team
Attention to detail and concern for quality and accuracy of final product (and ability to balance that concern with deadlines)
Experience and understanding of challenges related to Agile transformation and proven success of implementing these tactics
Ability to adapt within a rapidly changing environment
Demonstrated team player, self-starter, and independent thinker
Outstanding decision making and problem solving skills
Ability to foresee potential conflict and bring existing conflicts to positive resolution
Ability to motivate individuals and teams of individuals to improve their abilities
Understanding of how to coach teams as opposed to managing them
Responsibilities:
This position will be managing a large volume of work, including the ACS deliverables in cross-divisional programs as well as day to day operational support of the SNAPP product. The ACS team is transitioning to Agile. The team(s) that this role will be working with are at the infant stages of transformation. The successful candidate will need to be able to introduce agile concepts in a waterfall environment and transition slowly.
The Scrum Consultant will focus on four areas within the Software Engineering Organization: Culture, Process, Metrics, and Communication.
As a member of a team, the Scrum Master will share in the ownership of a comprehensive Agile development methodology for our firm. Kanban experience is also required to support daily operational -maintenance and development work.
