Job Summary
Our Client is seeking a Senior System Engineer (EM7) possessing Python development, REST and SOAP based API’s
The Senior Systems Engineer - Technology & Information systems is responsible for developing custom integrations as well as maintaining our Monitoring Systems.
Responsibilities
Backend development of customized integrations between homegrown and 3rd party applications such as Sciencelogic’s EM7, Service-Now and other API driven applications
Software development/scripting using UNIX shell scripting and Python
Collaborate with all facets of the business on the SDLC process, including requirement gathering, system design, implementation and testing
Design, implement and support custom monitoring solutions for internal and external Customers
Assist in 3rd level support and maintenance of all UNIX based support systems including monitoring systems, service management systems and homegrown applications
Data analysis and report development using SQL within MySQL/Oracle databases
Perform and/or assist complex updates/upgrades to 3rd part applications
Experience
Must have experience developing in Python.
Must have experience with REST and SOAP based API’s.
Developing with JavaScript and using PowerShell a plus.
Must have UNIX/Linux administration experience
Strong knowledge of technologies specifically MySQL. Querying MySQL and Oracle databases is a must
Experience with implementing Network, Server and Application Monitoring
Strong knowledge of VMware, AWS and Azure
Strong knowledge of Network Management Systems (NMS): Sciencelogic EM7, Nagios, HP Openview, etc.
SNMP knowledge and understanding a MUST, prior experience working in an analyst capacity for SNMP related projects is highly preferred
Experience managing bugs/support tickets with Software Vendors
