Our client, a comprehensive doctoral research university with a medical program, veterinary program, and very high research activity is widely known for specialties in agriculture, viticulture and enology, the biological sciences and veterinary medicine seeks accomplished Azure Systems Administrator / Architect.
Description:
Determine architectural requirements and designs and develops the software and cloud architecture for the product being built
Ensure that solutions are aligned with project goals. Extends conceptual models with business rules to develop logical data models.
Develop analysis models using statistical analysis tools, data mining, and other tools to create high-level data architecture diagram documenting system and data flows for research computing.
Evaluate alternatives for integrating data sources with enterprise relational models.
Evaluate and provide alternative strategies for analytical systems to effectively share data.
Evaluate and identifies specifications, best practices, integration and proper use of emerging technology as they relate to overall architecture.
Develop and maintain future state architectures and transition roadmaps which meet the enterprise needs as identified during current state architecture analysis and the assessment of gaps and opportunities.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in Azure administration. Demonstrated experience with VPNs, Azure networking.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in leading and mentoring technical staff in software and product developments.
Demonstrated experience translating business and technical requirements into comprehensive software solutions.
Significant experience in developing and implementing reusable data services.
Minimum of 4 years of IT experience in system, application, and/or database administration.
Minimum of 3 years of system or application administrator experience in networking/distributed computing environment.
At least 4 years of experience in architecting & migrating applications on Azure. At least 3 years of experience in project execution.
Good knowledge about Azure infrastructure elements.
Experience with big data technologies to include Azure big data platform (Azure Data Lake Store, and Azure Data Kitchens, SQLServer, Rshiny, Azure Data Management Gateway, Security Center, Azure automation/runbooks
Extensive background and expertise in developing and managing data technologies, technical operations, and related tools and technologies.
Working knowledge of IT governance and research computing frameworks, NIST 800-171, and NIST 800-53 compliance requirements.
Working knowledge of security best practices, development methodologies and modeling techniques, and documenting the operational policies and procedures.
