Job Description :

Role:Spark/ Cassandra Developer SME

Duration: 3 Months

Location: Sunnyvale, CA: local to CA candidates only.

Roles and Responsibilities

* Review proposed design options for their compatibility/suitability
with respect to Cassandra architecture.
* Provide inputs for performance tuning to speed up writes to
Cassandra and lookups from Cassandra into Spark through the DataStax
Spark-Cassandra Connector such as ''Repartition by Cassandra Replica''.
* Review the functional requirements for various data elements
(tables) and provide data modeling suggestions to implement the
functionality correctly and also achieve optimal performance.
* Provide inputs for setting various Cassandra runtime settings such
as read/write consistency, compaction strategy, timeouts, row caching
strategy etc.
* Monitor/profile production jobs, analyze performance, identify
bottlenecks and suggest improvements.
* *Knowledge of the Spark-Cassandra Tech Stack is highly valued.

Preferred Qualifications

* Must have good understanding of Cassandra architecture and how
various design options translate to performance. Must have operational
experience with a large-scale Cassandra implementation in production. Must
have hands-on experience with Cassandra.

* Must have good understanding of Spark and Spark-Cassandra
interaction through the DataStax, Spark-Cassandra Connector. Must have
previous hands-on / operational experience with a Spark Analytics
application using Cassandra as the persistent storage
