Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Technical Writer to be responsible for writing, editing and revising user documentation for a client infrastructure initiative. The Senior Technical Writer will have practical, relevant experience in compiling information through research, hands-on product experience, and interviews with subject-matter experts. The Technical Writer will play a critical role in translating information into organized content for use by system owners.
Primary Duties
Develop and maintain help, user documents, release notes and other user facing software documentation.
Study various infrastructure service areas and product design artifacts, and interacts with cross-functional team to understand product features
Learn the infrastructure and non-functional requirements, and tasks through hands-on experience and self-study
Participate in documentation project scheduling and planning meetings
Complete writing assignments on time and with high quality
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Scope, define and create new documents
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience writing software documentation, including online help, user documentation, release notes and other relevant technical documents.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Confluence and SnagIt
Excellent writing and communication skills
Ability to clearly express complex ideas and concepts
Knowledge of best practices in technical communication
Strong computer skills
Comfortable with technology and software
Ability to work and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability and desire to collaborate with others
Nice to have:
Experience writing about software

An experienced Technical Writer or Technical Business Analyst with experience in authoring, editing, and aggregating a variety of document types including but not restricted to: process maps/flows; conceptual, logical, and physical diagrams; run books; governance and standard operation procedure documentation.
Must have the ability to create appropriate visualization of complex technical topics.
Knowledge of IT infrastructure components and/or data center management required.
Ability to own complex documentation and meet deadlines with multiple deliverables.
Strong visualization skills to create images and diagrams.
Participate in elicitation activities to build a rich understanding for creation of process and technical documentation
