Required Skills:
A minimum of 7 (seven) years of experience architecting, installing and configuring relational database (RDBMS) platforms for large volumes and high availability in physical and/or virtual hardware.
A minimum of 7 (seven) years of experience in analyzing, building and tuning large scale data warehouse systems built on Relational database or NoSQL database platforms.
A minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in analyzing complex SQL queries, determining performance improvements and implementing indices and other database configurations to improve SQL performance.
A minimum of 5 (five) years of experience with PostgreSQL or DB2 or Microsoft SQL Server flavors of enterprise grade database administration, backup, recovery and monitoring.
A minimum of 3 (three) years of experience in installing and configuring NoSQL databases.
Preferred Skills:
A minimum of 3 (three) years of experience in Amazon Web Services Cloud Platform administration for EC2, RDS, S3 services.
A minimum of 2 (two) years of experience in architecting large scale sharded deployment of Mongo DB No SQL Database.
A minimum of 2 (two) of experience in architecting large scale PostgreSQL database environment.
At least 2 years of experience in installing and configuring BI solutions such as Cognos / Tableau / SSRS or similar Analytics solutions to work with relational databases and No SQL databases Proven ability to work with and build and maintain strong relationships with technical teams.
Ability to support RDBMS and NoSQL databases transitions related efforts.

Maryland Health Benefit Exchange (MHBE)
The Maryland Health Benefit Exchange (MHBE) created a website and call center operating under the name Maryland Health Connection (MHC Through MHC, Maryland residents explore health insurance plans, compare rates, and determine their eligibility for advanced premium tax credits (APTC), cost sharing reductions (CSR) and public assistance programs such as Medicaid and the Maryland Children’s Health Insurance Program (MCHP
MHBE seeks two (2) Senior Systems Architects (Senior Database Architect) to support the MHBE Health Benefit Exchange (HBX) Solution. The Senior Database Architect will be responsible for understanding, defining, analyzing, evaluating, architecting, testing, documenting, and implementing complex HBX database solutions.
Responsibilities:
Must be capable of providing highly technical expertise and support in the use of Database Management Systems (DBMS
Must be able to evaluate and recommend available DBMS products to support validated user requirements.
Define file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.
Develop, implement, and maintain database back-up and recovery procedures for the processing environments, and ensures that data integrity, security, and recoverability are built into the DBMS applications.
Design large scale high availability database deployments for relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL database (Mongo DB
Architect Sharded cluster deployments for Mongo DB.
Assess complex data models and design corresponding NoSQL document data models and transformations between relational and NO-SQL data model.
Assess and implement AWS cloud services for Mongo DB and PostgreSQL utilizing AWS EC2, RDS, S3 services.
Create design artifacts and deployment diagrams for database solutions.
Implement High Availability and disaster recovery strategy for relational and no-sql databases.
Configure and implement Business Intelligence and reporting tools for creating reports and analytics dashboards on Mongo DB
Adhere to all security, change control and client processes, tools and methodologies.
