Position: Progress DBA L-3
Location: Boston, MA
Term: Full-Time

Job Description-
To resolve tickets/escalations/incidents, through root cause analysis, in adherence to SLA, quality, process & security standards to ensure positive customer feedback and value creation.
To ensure positive customer experience and CSAT through First Call Resolution and minimum rejected resolutions / Reopen Cases
Work on value adding activities such Knowledge base update & management, Training fresher, coaching analysts & conducting interviews/participation in hiring drives
To participate or contribute on EN business in creation of proposals to drive Service improvement plans.
To adhere to quality standards, regulatory requirements and company policies
To provide support for on call escalations and doing incident & problem management
To independently resolve tickets & ensure that the agreed SLA of ticket volume and time are met for the team.
Create and maintain Progress databases required for development, testing, Integration, QA and production usage.
Performs the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases. The DBA should work closely with system and storage administrator to meet Hardware, Storage and Operating system requirements
Perform ongoing analysis and tuning of the progress database.
Install new versions of the progress database and its features and any other tools that access the progress database
Plans and implements backup and recovery of the progress database.
Application code promotion and migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle.
Experience and knowledge in migrating code, database changes, data and menus through the various stages of the development life cycle.
Implement and enforce security requirements for progress databases.
Performs database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database.
Evaluate releases of progress database version products to ensure that the environment is running the products that are most appropriate.
Planning is also performed by the DBA, along with the application developers and System administrators, to ensure that any new product usage or release upgrade takes place with minimal impact.
Provides technical support to application development teams. This is
usually in the form of a ITSM request. The DBA is usually the point of contact for database requirements.
Enforce and maintain database constraints to ensure integrity of the database
Administrate all database objects, including tables, indexes and replication database
Assist with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects.
Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, replication and SQL Tools
Create new SQL users and permission as required
The DBA has ultimate responsibility for the physical database design.
Good knowledge of the HP-UX and Linux operating system(s)
Good knowledge of physical database design
Ability to perform both progress and also operating system performance monitoring and the necessary adjustments.
Be able to provide a strategic database direction for the organization.
Excellent knowledge of Progress backup and recovery scenarios.
Excellent skill in OE replication technologies and fail over
Good knowledge of security management.
Sound knowledge of both database, Application program code promotion and performance tuning and analysis.
DBA should possess a sound understanding of the business.
DBA should have sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors, systems administrators and other related service providers
