Job Title: SAP Master Data Governance Specialist

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The SAP Master Data Governance Specialist will work in a high paced, dynamic environment. This person will play an important role in helping to define and execute an SAP Master Data governance framework and also provide analysis/functional expertise in SAP Finance (GL/FA/AP/AR
GL MASTER DATA
- Provide recommendations for standard forms and formalized review process for requests to create/change master data
- Coordinate data requirements across departments/locations to ensure consistency and accuracy of data
- Assist in data migration strategies between different SAP instances.
- Identify tools and techniques to monitor data quality within SAP
- Review requests for updates to master data to ensure they comply with policy (For example: chart of accounts, company codes, cost centers, profit centers)
- Process approved changes to master file data including creating /inactivating/updating account string in ERP and notify requester of master data updates
- Perform periodic data cleansing, audit and validation with appropriate guidance
- Provide recommendations for standard process to review requests to create/change transactions and roles in SAP
- Review requests for new transactions and roles and changes to existing transactions and roles, research global transactions and roles to determine if requests are standard and report results of analysis to the Global GL Process owner
- Maintain and improve data integrity and accuracy and eliminate recurring data issues
- Understand the impact of master data within the organization and systems
- Competent to work on all phases of systems analysis while considering business implications of the applied technologies to current and future business environments.
- Effective at analyzing technical solutions to meet business expectations while adhering to enterprise SAP standards.
INTERFACES TO SAP & BATCH PROCESSING
- Monitor interfaces from other systems to SAP and contact the appropriate SME when there are errors to identify the root cause of the error and correct it
- Track interface/batch errors and perform root cause analysis on master data and system integration problems, recommend corrective actions
- Adhere to internal financial controls
TRAINING
- Ability to navigate within SAP to gain an understanding of system configuration rules and requirements for GL and AP transactions, document the process for end users and provide training
- Expert in SAP Fixed Asset Module (4.6 and 6.0)
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
- Participate in the business process redesign and documentation related to technology enhancements
o Eliminate manual batch postings by working with IT team to automate posting to multiple SAP systems
- Translate high level requirements into functional specifications for IT developers
