Documentation and Technical Writing-FA-11

Our Client seeks an assistance with the documentation of their Electronic
Fare Collection (EFC) system.
Our Client''s EFC system lacks documentation and technical specifications as it relates to the interfaces used between the
Client''s system and 3rd party vendors. The 3rd party vendors systems include connections for handing payments, card
processing, back office related systems and connections to hardware validators/card readers.
This documentation will help Client in understanding these interfaces and being able to allow them to develop or seek other
potential help and support as it relates to updates, upgrades or replacements of parts of the system in the future.

Required Skills
Seeking a Sr. Level Technical Writer. The individual should have experience in creation of end user documentation as
well as technical based documentation. Experience with card or payments systems and documentation of such systems
is a plus.
The individual will work with individuals on Client''s software development and EFC teams during the creation of the
documentation.
Work will be performed on site at Client’s main office in Salt Lake City, UT.
Work will be part-time, 4 hours per day for a 90 day period of time.
Upon completion of the work Client will receive a set of documentation that meets our needs for the specifications of this
system and the specification of the interfaces into the system

Duties: Assists in collecting and organizing information for preparation of user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports. Edits functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents. Conducts research and ensures the use of proper technical terminology. Translates technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel. For applications built to run in a Windows environment, uses the standard help compiler to prepare all online documentation. Assists in performing financial and administrative functions. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently or under only general direction.
General Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in this area.
Specialized Experience: Minimum two (2) years’ experience writing, editing and publishing technical documentation including researching applicable standards
