Job Title - SQL Server DBA
Location - Midtown Manhattan

Job Description –
* Must Have experience in Oracle DBA (application DBA)
* SQL Server and Oracle DBA (80% - 20%)
* Mid (6 years) level, strong SQL Server (2008, 2014, 2016) DBA
* Some Oracle (11g and more recent) DBA experience big plus
* This is NOT a Production DBA role, but an Application DBA role
* This role will involve dealing with several business-critical systems that use SQL Server and Oracle databases. Candidate will work with our primary DBAs for both technologies. Effort/time division between the two roles would be roughly 80% and 20% for SQL Server and Oracle respectively.
* Besides managing backups, restoration and keeping databases in good health, candidate will also be working closely with 25-30 developers to troubleshoot performance issues, help with DB architecture and design for business applications
* Candidate must be comfortable with working in multitasking, high-pressure environment with demanding users
* Good verbal/written communication skills required
Business:
* Financial industry experience required
* Working knowledge in financial domain desirable, not absolutely required
Technical Expertise:
* Must have DBA experience with SQL Server 2008, 2014, 2016 (at least 2-3 years)
* Some DBA experience with Oracle 11g and greater on UNIX based servers big plus
* Must have comprehensive expertise various replication mechanisms and tools for SQL/Oracle databases
* Must have working knowledge and experience in Partitioning, hardware configuration, physical I/O optimization etc. for SQL databases/Oracle
* Must have strong expertise in writing/optimizing complex queries, procedures, functions etc. in SQL/Oracle
* Good working knowledge in SSIS is highly desirable
* Good working knowledge in SSRS is highly desirable
* Good working knowledge in SSAS will be a plus
* Knowledge and experience in tools and principles for data-warehousing is desirable
