Position Purpose:
The IS Project Manager-Senior leads the project team to meet project objectives within scope, schedule, cost, resource, quality, risk constraints. Manages projects whose core deliverables require new or improved information systems solutions. Senior-level professional with extensive experience in all aspects of information systems project and program management. Encompasses the full knowledge required to effectively lead projects through the project lifecycle. Typically designs and develops approaches that are implemented by others. Functions with minimal oversight and direction.
Scope

Essential Job Duties:
- Develops and leads the execution of project plans including a detailed schedule of tasks and owners using client PMO approved methodologies and tools. Coordinates the development of multiple project plans as part of a program. Adjusts project plans as necessary to achieve project objectives within schedule, scope and resource constraints
- Manages multiple, interdependent projects as part of a larger coordinated program. Effectively coordinates and proactively manages cross project dependencies to reduce program risk. Coordinates effective communication to project stakeholders about project status and progress.
- Deals effectively with a broad range of issues that may adversely affect project success.
- Mentors less experience project managers as assigned. May lead other project managers as part of a program management assignment.
- Identifies needed project resources and works with resource managers using approved processes and tools to ensure that adequate resources are in place to support the project plan. Escalates project resource issues in a timely manner.
- Leads development of project cost plans. Tracks actual costs against budget to ensure the realization of expected value from resource usage.
- Assigns project work, sets priorities, and provides guidance in the completion of tasks, reviews deliverables, and reviews and approves project timesheets.
- Works with resource managers to address individual performance issues affecting project success. May participates in the recruiting and hiring of team members, as appropriate.
- Provides leadership in identifying, analyzing, managing, mitigating and resolving issues and risks (including dependencies) affecting the project. As appropriate, escalates issues and risks to management.
- Leads the development, review, and approval of the documents required by the Project Life Cycle. Leads preparation for Project Life Cycle phase transition Checkpoint reviews.
- Develops and executes project and/or program communication plans to ensure timely, accurate, effective communication of project related information to stakeholders. Uses PMO approved methods and tools to ensure consistency. Leads development of presentations for use in various venues. Effectively organizes and leads project meetings.
- Facilitates necessary interactions between stakeholders to resolve issues affecting project success. Adept at managing and resolving interpersonal conflict between project participants.
- Contributes to the development of improved project management processes and tools.
- Actively participants in stakeholder / resource manager staff meetings to provide strategic direction for programs.

Minimum Requirements:
-Bachelor''s Degree in a science, engineering, business management or related field that demonstrates strong analytical ability. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
-Project Management Professional certification from PMI.org
- Master''s Degree in a closely related field plus four years of experience. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
or Six years experience in an Information Systems organization in the project manager role.
- Demonstrated excellent data management, analysis, and presentation skills including use of common tools to extract data and develop reports and graphs for use in reports.
-Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications to all levels within the organization.

Physical Requirements:
- Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information.
- Operate computers and other IT equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
- See and read computer monitors and documents.
- Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- ITIL V3 Foundations certification.
- Two years experience in an Information Systems organization in the functional management role.
- Four years experience in actively using Microsoft Project Professional to manage projects.
- Two years experience managing projects using a Project Life Cycle including phase-gate style project reviews.
- Two years experience with Healthcare IT technologies and applications.
- Two years experience in a healthcare provider setting.
- Agile Scrum Master Certification or demonstrated equivalent experience and skill.
- Program Management Professional certification from PMI.org or equivalent.
- Successful track record in all aspects of providing excellent customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with all levels within the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to influence others to complete assigned work using methods consistent with Intermountain''s values.
- Six Sigma process certification or demonstrated equivalent experience and skill.
