Project Manager

Complete Description: General: Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects within the information technology department. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project. May require a bachelor''s degree and at least 7+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field''s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
Under limited supervision, reporting to Technology Services Division (TSD) Management, serves as a Project Manager responsible for multiple infrastructure, information security, and/or application level projects.
This contractor will be one member of a team that is comprised of proven experts in some or all of the fields of networking, virtual environments, information security, encryption, network automation, centralized IT management, Microsoft server, and SQL environments.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
1. A Bachelor''s degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and four (4) years of experience in information technology systems or related area; or an Associate''s degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and six (6) years of experience in information technology systems or related area; or a High School diploma and eight (8) years of experience in information technology systems or related area
2. PMP certification. Expired certifications must be reinstated within 6 months of start date.

5. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the needs of technical peers, technical and user management, business users, vendors, and staff members
6. Excellent verbal and written communications to include grammar, composition, punctuation, writing, editing and proofreading skills
7. Experience with meeting facilitation
8. Experience in developing and maintaining documentation for policies, procedures, and best practices
9. Experience with requirements/environments for PCI, PUB1075, and/or NIST.
