Job Description :
1. This is a Network Engineering position that will be responsible for installing, testing and maintaining the network equipment staging center that is used to validate designs of transport and data network systems that are an integral part of the operation of the national network. The Engineer will provide support for traditional vendor network system, software defined network (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) operations and functionality.
2. Advanced installation, operation, and maintenance of the lab transport network elements, data communications and peripheral equipment ensuring network integrity and quality.
3. Responsibilities also include coordinating installation, testing, and troubleshooting of transmission facilities.
4. Application migration requiring network layer2 and layer3 updates to the transport switching and routing infrastructure in spine-leaf fabric configurations.
5. Upgrade software code on the transport network elements (load balancers, routers, and switches) with minimal customer downtime.
6. Bring up new routers, switches and load balancers in the Telecommunication network data center according to the defined network standards and best practices. Verify that all these elements correctly comply with the network management systems and various network monitoring platforms.
7. Troubleshoot any issues in the network for services affected in the lab and provide technical support and hands and feet support to design engineers and DevOps teams.
8. Provide hand-off and pre-implementation support for engineering and operations teams through knowledge share and Transfer of Information sessions as well as whiteboards and other required support to allow for successful network implementations.
9. Engineering & Operations support to the design team and other teams using the lab.
10. Configuration development, standardization, and auditing support.
11. Manage good vendor relationship for effective and on time deliverables.
12. Update daily logs and design documentation for lab and production environment, and composing clear, concise reports for system documentation.

BS preferred or equivalent work experience. Generally, 7 plus years work experience in related discipline.
1. CCNP preferred.
2. Advanced knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF 2.
3. Advanced knowledge of layer 3 and layer 2 switching, spanning-tree protocols, ARP, port-channel, DHCP.
4. Hardware hands on and knowledge – Cisco Nexus 5K, 7K, 9Ks, FEX 2K, Cisco 3900 routers, Cisco CRS/Company, Juniper MX960, Cisco ASR 1K/9K routers.
5. Working knowledge of F5 and A10 load balancers – including knowledge of SSL certificates and its installation on load balancers.
6. Experience with Linux, scripting and Openstack administration is desirable.
7. Any network scripting and automation experience is preferred.
8. Advanced knowledge of MPLS and WAN technologies.
9. Network documentation and Visio skills
10. Basic level of project management skills
11. Candidate should be able to multitask or work on multiple projects concurrently
12. Good communication and ability to work with multiple groups
13. Experience in physical hands-on installation and troubleshooting of network transport, transmission, and layer 1 network devices.
14. General knowledge of optical transmission equipment administration and maintenance also considered a plus. Familiarity with Protocol Analysis, Packet Capture, Wireshark, NetScout, Fluke, T-Berd and other Fiber test tools.
15. Demonstrated technical and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot end-to-end systems.
