Leading migration, modernization of applications to newer platforms
Providing guidance on modernization and enhancements to the modernized systems
Continued integration of assigned functions as they are transitioned to the new platform
Analysis of various system interfaces
Testing of modernized code and document the results
Providing input to deliverables as required
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years’ experience required
Demonstrated 6-10 years of experience with application architecture design and solution development with mainframe technologies like COBOL, PL/1, JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS and CICS or other mainframe technologies
Demonstrated experience in SDLC using both waterfall and Agile practices and methodologies.
Demonstrated 3-5 years of experience in design and integration of mainframe application solutions with distributed systems.
Strong analysis skills
Demonstrated understanding of code analysis, code conversion and automated testing tools
Demonstrated experience executing the SDLC against multiple technology projects
Demonstrated experience with database design
At least 4-6 years of experience managing large technology engagements, including project management-related tasks and managing multiple work threads or engagements
At least 4-6 years of experience leading technical analysts or development teams through system migrations, updates, or implementations
Preferred Skills:
Demonstrated understanding of tool based modernization, including code analysis, code conversion, Business Rule Extraction & Externalization, and automated testing tools
Demonstrated understanding of the nuances of the tool based modernization SDLC
Demonstrated understanding of API, Web Services, Mobile, and Cloud platform enablement
Demonstrated experience executing the SDLC against multiple modernization projects
Familiar with Object Orientated Programming/Design
Ability to communicate and work in a project team environment
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Strong desire to work with application code and conduct detailed analysis to recommend solutions for updating modernization products and tools
Consulting background a plus
