Title : Senior DB2 Administrator
Location: Owings Mills, MD
Duration: Thru 2017 (7 months, may be extended into 2018)

Responsibilities
Design and configure mainframe supporting products and subsystems to meet or exceed systems availability targets.
Install, maintain and support the mainframe DB2 Database environments and any other assigned system software. Monitor and tune to ensure acceptable levels of performance and resource utilization. Ensure software is utilizing all appropriate functions and features. Provide timely and accurate reporting on performance, utilization and feature use as requested.
Maintain expert level knowledge the following support areas:
o DB2 Database Systems
o IBM InfoSphere Data Replications (IIDR V10.2) Q Replication installation and support
o DB2 Database tools: Optim, Recovery Expert, DB2 Utility Suite, DB2 Administrative Tool
Knowledge of the following products may prove beneficial:
o IMS
o ASG’s TMON performance management product suite
o CA’s mainframe toolset including CA1, CA7, OPS/MVS
o Compuware’s development tools and performance management tools
Ability to install and/or patch software with SMP/E
Fluent in TSO, ISPF, JCL and JES2
Knowledgeable in the Mainframe Security product Resource Access Control Facility (RACF)
Provide 24x7 on call support for Mainframe DB2 infrastructure and supporting software
Use available resources to research, resolve and/or recommend solutions for complex and critical systems, escalating when necessary
Adhere to standard Service Level Agreements (SLA) for day-to-day support
Ensure that change management process is properly followed for environment changes
Provide excellent customer service to all customers, both internal and external
Exhibit professionalism when working with and communicating with our customers and vendors
Act as an interface to members of the IT infrastructure team, keeping management and peers informed, and disseminating information as needed
Ensure all work complies with established policies, standards, licensing agreements and configuration guidelines
Effectively lead complex technical projects to implement major releases or create new environments as necessary
Develop project plans
Complete all appropriate documentation and notifications in order to obtain completion within the established timeframes without impact

Required Skills
BA/BS in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent knowledge/experience
7+ years of experience in systems engineering on mainframe platforms
Necessary experience and technical skills to support the installation, configuration and support of DB2 environments and supporting software on two mainframes in a sysplex environment with multiple supporting storage systems
Strong troubleshooting, project management, and effective communication skills to extend beyond the Mainframe Systems team to collaborate with other technical teams, clients and vendors on complex infrastructure designs or difficult troubleshooting
Ability to multi-task effectively, supporting multiple products, running projects and troubleshooting seamlessly
