Job Description
Responsible for the development and design of web applications and components. Design, code, test, and implement web sites and applications, for either internal or external uses. Troubleshoot and resolve issues surrounding performance, response times, capacity and system limitations. Responsible for creating and modifying documentation corresponding to websites. Will collaborate with users, internal business partners, internal technology resources (database, system, networking) and with external vendors. Maintain and update websites and ensure data quality, integrity and consistency across organization. Requires both front-end (GUI) and back-end development experience. 3-5 years of prior web development experience is required. Important to have empathy for our users and a desire to understand their needs and design solutions that will help them succeed.
The candidates most definitely should have knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS; however, this is not a Java development position. We are looking for a candidate who has an understanding of PHP, Linux and Apache. Web Applications Developer Expertise in the following:
PHP
MySQL and relational databases
Linux
Web server platforms, protocols, and applications (Apache a plus)
HTML 5 with CSS
Javascript, jquery
Software design and documentation (MVC a plus)
Shell Commands
Web design, development and documentation
Software development using libraries (Codeigniter 2 a plus)
Data structures
User sessions
File management
Email processing and management
Search algorithms
Data encryption
Scalability/performance efficiencies, caching
Software versioning and revision control (SVN a plus)
Agile Frameworks, Scrum, Kanban, or Extreme Programming
Design Thinking, User Experience

Minimum educational level:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 5 years related experience.
