*Storage and Backup Engineer:( TSM specialist) NYC*
*TSM Tivoli Storage Manager) , Tape Libraries, Data Domain, VTLs, SAN ,
Design, architect, implement IBM Spectrum Protection (TSM) data backup
solutions that meet the business needs and can deliver the required SLA.
- In depth knowledge of TSM functions including policy definitions,
schedules, devices, communication requirements. Understanding of these
concepts should be used to propose and design solutions that are the right
fit for a given business requirement.
- Ability to define local storage devices, specify administrative
schedules, authorize users, set up client(s) for backup/restore and
archive/retrieve, configure backup schedules, and perform tuning, problem
determination, and resolution.
- Ability to maintain and update all components of an enterprise TSM
environment.
- Understanding of Linux, Windows and AIX with focus on tunable settings
that impact backup performance.
- LAN and TCP/IP routing, configuration and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently on escalations and take them to
resolution.
- Work closely with internal customers including systems, database and
application to understand the challenges faced and provide solutions.
- Work effectively in a high paced rapidly changing environment with
changing priorities and deliverables.
- Knowledge of TSM Operations Center and ability to create reports and
growth trends to manage and forecast storage growth.
- Perform after hours support and on-call rotation as needed.
- Create documentation, build standards and drive efficiencies by
automation.
