Job Description:
Serve as the primary architect for SharePoint Online at Teradata.
Responsibilities include helping Teradata choose the best architectural design for Office 365 overall, custom applications which will be hosted in SharePoint Online, and helping to devise a migration strategy for migrating SharePoint 2010 Foundation sites into SharePoint Online.
Guide Teradata on what should be hosted in Cloud vs. On-Premise SharePoint and be able to articulate the pros and cons of the recommended architecture.
Secondary responsibilities include serving as a developer who can implement the recommended strategy, as well as provide support to end users who are encountering problems with SharePoint.
We are looking for someone who has a solid 10+ years’ expertise with Sharepoint, and at least 3+ years with Sharepoint Online specifically. Since we are dealing with cloud, we don’t need traditional farm / Sharepoint Server architects.
Here is an example of the types of skills we are looking for:
Ability to identify and implement ways to improve the relevancy and ranking for Sharepoint search results to best meet the business requirements.
Proficiency with multiple techniques for moving data back and forth between Sharepoint Online and Azure SQL. Ability to implement the best technique for given needs.
Proficiency with Nintex Online Forms/Worfklow Engine, since that is the tool we are currently using. Note: experience with Nintex On-premise is useful, but there are significant differences between On-premise and Online. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding on Nintex Online and any limitations.
Ability to design an optimal topology for Teradata team collaboration sites in Sharepoint Online. (For instance, pros and cons of giving every site requestor their own site collection vs. minimizing the number of site collections, and leveraging subsites
Ability to implement hybrid search in Sharepoint Online, bringing in content from other repositories which are behind Teradata’s firewall.
Ability to consult with senior executive sponsors to help guide the vision, strategy and use of Office 365 within Teradata.
