Configuration Management Specialist

Under general direction, responsible for effectively tracking, logging,
categorizing, and maintaining changes made against the accepted
baseline(s) standards. Develops, distributes, and tracks all change packages
resulting from approved Configuration Control Board action.
Provides daily support and direction to staff as to change status
requirements, deadlines, and problems.
Education:
Bachelors Degree, Engineering,
Business, Computer Science or
Information Systems
Up to and including Top Secret SCI
A+, Network+, or Security+
IBM Rational Tools including Rational
ClearCase, ClearQuest, BuildForge,
Quality Manager, etc.
CVS, Subversion, Serena, and / or other configuration management ystems
Role Job description:
The CM Specialist reports to the Build Specialist Lead. The Build Specialist
will be responsible for managing the migration queue, building patches for
release, and synchronizing instances.
The CM Specialist will perform the following tasks and activities:
o Deploy code into Test instances through the PPM deployment process.
o Execute configuration documents into Test instances.
o Develop Unix shell scripts to facilitate Patch Releases for the Client.
o Prepare Patch Release documentation and code base for deployment to client
systems.
o Troubleshoot Client patch deployment or other system testing issues.
o Collaborate with L2 Team, Test Team, or DBA Team for any system errors.
o Update and deliver Patch Release documentation through the PR or Failback
procedures.
o Provide user security for the PPM Application.
o Identify areas for improvement of the PPM Deployment or Patch Release
process and report to the lead for implementation.
o Configure code, test and implement new functionality for deployment of new
objects types.
o Execute Patches for synchronization and shakedown Training or Test
systems.
o Record time daily to comply with company standards.
o Provide leads with timely daily statuses on tasks assigned.
o Cross Train knowledge with other members of the team.
Basic Qualifications:
1. 1+ years professional work experience
2. Bachelor''s Degree (Computer Science/Engineering Degree)
