REQUIREMENT:

Sr. IT Business Analyst DW-BI Systems - Cupertino, CA -6-12Plus Months Contract

Key Skills Needed:

A minimum of 5 years of experience working as Business Analyst.
A minimum of 3 years of experience working on Business Intelligence projects.
Extensive experience in Designing Dashboards or reporting.
Extensive experience in defining user requirements.
Experience with SQL is required.
Experience with project management software preferred.


Must Have:

Extensive knowledge of standard IT practices related to business application development/implementation.
Extensive knowledge of IT structured analysis methodologies, including process flow definition and data flow diagramming.
Strong knowledge of BI and Data Warehousing.
Strong Knowledge of Dimensional Models.
Strong understanding of the functional area and business practices to be supported.


Responsibilities:

Develops understanding of customers'' needs and applies it in researching potential solutions.
Owns clarification, rationalization and documentation of project requests.
Participates in preparation of the Business Case, Project Charter, Project Cost Justification, RFI, RFP, Package Selection Recommendation and other project initiation documents.
Ensures appropriate business participation in IT projects.

Application Development

Analyzes and documents relevant business processes.
Perform technical analysis and design including but not limited to data extract queries, data model reviews, and data interface.
Leads interviews with customers to define functional requirements.
Defines, documents and reviews functional requirements.
Leads the detailed design and/or configuration phases.
Conducts gap analysis
Drives software selection process, where applicable.

Administration

Mentors and leads Business Analysts and other team members.
Communicates plans, status and issues to management on a regular basis.
Adheres to department standards, policies, procedures and industry best practices.
