JOB SUMMARY:
Apply sound technical solutions supporting the strategic growth of the Client''s railway measurement business. Work with engineering and operational personnel to support existing applications and advancement of new technical value for our customers. Hands-on field involvement of measurement system technology and in support of effective field operations supporting our customers’ requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Apply sound installation and troubleshooting techniques of equipment, in the area of railway track measurement and machine vision (inertial, optical, digital data collection systems)
Application of technical solutions and problem solving related to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems, computer systems.
Utilize custom software solutions to operate, troubleshoot and assess system functionality.
Direct involvement in the start-up of new track measurement systems and applications.
Hands-on work with system calibration procedures and processes supporting achievement of ISO standards
Work in close liaison with mechanical, electrical, computer and software solution engineers.
Close work with technical partners or suppliers to advance application or development solutions.
Make field emergency trips to support electrical / minor mechanical repairs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Technical college education or documented certificate required
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with our without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to travel up to 100% of the time to customer offices, railroad track testing sites, and on TrackSTAR® testing vehicles within the North American Region.
Ability to walk on rough ground/railroad track, climb vehicle ladders, inclines, and work on vehicle systems in the field or shop
Ability to handle typical weather extremes when working in the field.
