Job Description:
This position will be a technical contributor on a BI solution delivery team that works with various Teradata corporate departments. The ETL Development Consultant will specialize in the design and development of the ETL environment, processes, programs, and scripts to acquire data from source systems and apply the data to tables in a Teradata-based database for reporting/analytic purposes. The ETL Developer will be a member of a solution delivery team and work with other team members on-site, as well as team members in Teradata’s off-shore development centers. The ETL Consultant may also provide input to the database designer to optimize the data loading of the physical database.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Design, develop, and test processes for extracting data from source applications.
Design, develop, and test processes for validating and conditioning data prior to loading into a data warehouse.
Design, develop, and test processes for loading initial and cyclical data into a data warehouse.
Design the processes to meet service level agreements for data timeliness and frequency.
Coordinate ETL Development activities with other team members on-site, and off-shore.
Skill Requirements:
BA/BS degree in an Information Technology or Business-related field required
Strong problem-solving skills and innovation
3+ solid years experience using the INFORMATICA ETL programming tool required
5+ years of experience working with BI Solution Delivery teams required
Experience/Familiarity with Teradata DBMS, Teradata SQL is preferred
Knowledge extracting from WORKDAY is a plus
Knowledge and/or experience with SAP BI tools (Webi, Explorer, Dashboards, Lumira, etc or Microsoft Power BI a plus
Experience working with off-shore developers a plus
Ability to lead and work in groups – strong consultative and consensus building skills
Experience with a Job Control and Scheduling application a plus.
